Position: Warehouse & Facilities Technician

Location: Upstate New York (Ithaca / Bainbridge area)

Reports To: Warehouse & Facilities Manager

Overview:

Intelligent Green Solutions is seeking a hands-on, dependable Warehouse & Facilities Technician to support our operations. This role combines warehouse duties, facility upkeep, light equipment servicing, and occasional on-site job support. We’re looking for someone with practical skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to handle a variety of tasks safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts safely for loading/unloading and moving materials.
  • Perform manual work, including crating, packaging, and cutting metal profiles.
  • Conduct lawncare and grounds maintenance around facilities.
  • Perform basic servicing on heavy equipment (small track loaders/Bobcat, excavators), including oil and filter changes.
  • Assist with deliveries of parts and materials.
  • Safely operate trucks with trailers to transport equipment or materials.
  • Assist with equipment deliveries to customers or job sites.
  • Support field teams on job sites 1–2 days per month for material movement.
  • Maintain and use all basic construction tools effectively.
  • Keep warehouse spaces organized, clean, and operational.

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of prior warehouse experience.
  • Experience with forklifts, trucks/trailers, and construction tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL not required, but a plus).
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs safely and perform physically demanding work.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform simple maintenance tasks.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.

Work Environment:

This role involves both indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Some travel within the region will be required for deliveries and jobsite assistance.

Position Overview

As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be the face of IGS in your assigned territory, engaging homeowners directly, educating them about solar energy and heat pumps, and closing sales. You will manage your own sales pipeline, build lasting relationships, and contribute to the company’s growth by delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person sales appointments at homeowner locations, presenting the benefits of solar energy and heat pumps.
  • Generate and manage a pipeline of sales leads within your territory.
  • Address customer questions and objections with professionalism and expertise.
  • Guide prospects through the sales process, building trust and closing deals.
  • Develop customer networks through referrals and community engagement.
  • Attend ongoing training sessions and team meetings to stay informed on products and sales strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with customers quickly.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle a dynamic territory.
  • Coachable, trainable, and self-driven to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Experience

  • Outside sales experience in HVAC, energy efficiency, plumbing, roofing, home appliances, security systems, or solar industries.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay of $600 per week plus unlimited, uncapped commission potential.
  • Company-provided sales vehicle after 90 days or upon reaching sales targets.
  • W2 position with benefits including 401(k), paid time off, and paid training.
  • No cold prospecting required—leads are provided and qualified.
  • Flexible scheduling and opportunity for career advancement.
  • Average reps earn $100,000 - $150,000+ annually.
